Counting Sheep
You can't sleep. Nightmares stand on the path, and each one is a number. Herd your sheep into a huddle that adds up to it and count them over the fence. Count exactly and the nightmare falls asleep. Count too many and the extra sheep run off into the dark.
Counting Sheep is in early playtesting. New nights, new cards and balance changes land first on the Discord
- Drag a sheep onto a sheep. They huddle together and add up.
- Drop a card on a sheep. Cut, Lambing, Gate and Dream change its number.
- Drag the huddle onto a nightmare, then press COUNT.
- Hit the number exactly. Counted sheep never come back, and every sheep that runs off is one you will miss later.
Every drag also works as a tap, then a tap.
- Twenty nights on one map. Pick your road through six biomes, and see the last nightmare from the first night.
- Every biome wants one kind of number: even, prime, square, Fibonacci, or a multiple of three. The wrong kind does nothing, however big.
- Signs on the path change the count on its way, like ×2, +4 and -3.
- Lullabies are bedtime rules that last the whole run. You can keep three.
- Count well, choose more. Each night is graded, the grade buys picks of new sheep and tools, and wool buys unlocks in the shop between runs.
Controls: mouse or touch. Plays in the browser, best in full screen. M mutes.
- Nightmares: Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup tiles (CC0), recoloured for each biome.
- Sounds: Kenney and BigSoundBank (CC0).
- Fonts: Pixelify Sans (with C, G and ^ opened for reading) and Jersey 10, both under the SIL Open Font License.
